Our Pick of Savoury Gins

I am always on the lookout for new and exciting ways to enjoy gin. While gin is traditionally associated with floral and citrus notes, you might be surprised to find there is actually a whole world of savoury gins out there just waiting to be salivated over.

Yes, I did say savoury.

Level up your gin game and knowledge with these must-try savoury gins.

Gin Mare

Straight from Spain and tastes like a holiday on the Mediterranean. Infused with botanicals like rosemary, thyme, and basil, giving it a distinctly savoury flavour profile. Recommended: in a savoury cocktail, or neat with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

Aviation Gin

A unique blend of cardamom, lavender, and sarsaparilla come together in Aviation gin. The savoury quality of this one makes it stand out from other gins. Recommended: in dirty martini or a gin and tonic with a twist of lime.

Opihr Gin

Imagine a London dry gin power packed with spices like black pepper, coriander, and cardamom, the result? A warm and spicy gin known as Opihr. Recommended: in addition to savoury snacks such as olives and cheese.

The Botanist Gin

Hailing from the Isle of Islay, The Botanist Gin is infused with a whopping 22 botanicals, including wild thyme, heather, and bog myrtle. Recommended: To sip this one on a chilly evening, when you need a gin with more complexity and body.

These are just the top four savoury gins that spring to mind that I like, and can wholeheartedly recommend. I just know there are plenty of other savoury gins out there, just waiting to be discovered. While they might seem unusual, I promise savoury gin to be worth exploring. Whether you prefer a warm and spicy gin or a bold and juniper-forward flavour profile, there’s a savoury gin out there that’s perfect for you.

Happy exploring as you expand your gin horizons, be sure to let me know how it goes.

Cheers!
